Monthly Plan Subscription Terms & Conditions
Version Number MB-P10 | Last updated 5 October 2026
These terms apply to The Meat Box Monthly Plans. The seller is Kyle Azzoppardi, sole trader trading as The Meat Box, VAT number MT 2853 9024, at 93 Il Macellaio, Triq Il-Mimosa, Gwardamangia, Tal-Pieta, PTA 1042, Malta. Stripe provides the hosted subscription checkout and billing portal; your meat-box contract is with The Meat Box. Individual shop purchases follow our Online Shop Terms & Conditions. See our Privacy & Cookie Policy for data use.
Subscription and Payments
A Monthly Plan provides the box described for your selected plan once per monthly subscription cycle. By subscribing, you authorise the initial and recurring payments shown at Stripe checkout. The subscription renews until cancelled and has no minimum commitment beyond the current paid billing period.
Prices are in euros and include applicable VAT and standard delivery within the approved delivery areas. The online shop's 20% temporary weight allowance does not apply to Monthly Plans. Natural pack-weight variations are expected and do not by themselves entitle the customer to a refund or price adjustment where the overall plan remains reasonably consistent with its description. A box is prepared only after successful payment.
Contents, Availability and Delivery
Plans use the listed contents and standard product formats; custom cutting, special trimming, marinating and customer-selected substitutions are not included. Products remain subject to availability and quality. Where necessary, we may offer an equivalent or higher-value substitute. We will seek your agreement before any materially different substitution affecting the nature of the box, allergens or dietary suitability.
Monthly Plans use standard scheduled delivery. We use the billing address provided for the subscription as the delivery address for Monthly Plan orders. You are responsible for keeping your name, email, phone number and billing address accurate and suitable for delivery. If incorrect or incomplete information prevents delivery, we may hold the order and agree any additional delivery arrangements or charges with you before another attempt.
Delivery dates and time windows are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise. We are not responsible for delays caused by traffic, weather, supplier disruption or other circumstances outside our reasonable control, although mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Managing Your Subscription
You can manage the options enabled for your account through our Stripe Customer Portal, including permitted customer details and, where available, plan or quantity changes.
For eligible plan or quantity changes, Stripe is configured to charge or credit the full price difference rather than time-based proration. Any resulting adjustment is invoiced at the end of the current billing period. A switch to a cheaper plan, or to a shorter billing interval where offered, is scheduled to take effect at the end of the current billing period. Other changes take effect as shown in the portal. You are responsible for reviewing Stripe's summary before confirming a change.
Cancellation and Failed Payments
You may cancel through the Stripe Customer Portal at any time without a cancellation fee. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so the subscription remains active until then and does not renew afterwards. Ordinary cancellation does not create a right to a partial refund for the current paid billing period. A box already paid for remains due unless the law requires otherwise.
Cancellation and subscription management must be completed through the Stripe Customer Portal. Please use the portal before the next renewal if you wish to cancel or make any available subscription changes. If payment fails, Stripe may retry collection and we may suspend preparation or delivery until payment is completed. Repeated failed payments, suspected fraud or misuse may result in cancellation of the subscription.
Returns, Refunds and Product Problems
Because Monthly Plan boxes contain fresh and perishable food, we do not offer voluntary returns or refunds merely because a customer changes their mind about a box that has already been paid for, prepared or supplied, except where we expressly agree otherwise.
If products are unsafe, defective, missing or not as described, statutory consumer remedies remain available. Please report problems promptly and provide photographs or other reasonable information where helpful. A refund is not automatic in every complaint; the appropriate remedy depends on the circumstances and applicable law and may include replacement, a proportionate price adjustment or, where required, a refund.
You are responsible for refrigerating or freezing products promptly after delivery and following storage and use-by instructions. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for deterioration or loss caused after delivery by improper storage, handling or failure to follow product instructions.
Any statutory right that applies to withdrawal from the ongoing subscription remains available in accordance with law. This is separate from ordinary portal cancellation and does not create a general right to return perishable goods already supplied or to receive a refund for a compliant box.
Changes to Plans and Our Right to End a Subscription
We may change a plan's price, contents or availability for future billing periods where reasonably necessary. For a price increase or material change to an existing subscription, we will notify you before the affected renewal and give you a reasonable opportunity to cancel.
We may discontinue or cancel a subscription for legitimate operational reasons, non-payment, suspected fraud, misuse, repeated failed delivery caused by customer circumstances, or if we can no longer serve the delivery area. Any amount legally due for a box we do not supply will be returned or otherwise resolved as required by law.
Law, Liability and Contact
These terms are governed by Maltese law and do not exclude or limit any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, The Meat Box is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss arising from customer misuse or improper storage, or losses relating to business use of products purchased as a consumer.
